You need Steam and Halflife1 (installed with steam). It doesn't work if you have Halflife1 without steam. When you have installed Halflife1, you need start start it once!

Try the automatic installer first. If it doesn't work, try the manual installer.

Manual installation:
1. Install Steam and download Half life 1 with Steam. When the download of Half life 1 is ready, start it once.
2. Unpack the ZIP-Archive to your steamapps\mailaddress\half-life\ folder.
After that folders should look like:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\you@mail.com\half-life\dod_31
3. Your ready to play! Just open steam and watch out for the new game.

Du benötigst zum Spielen Steam und mußt mit Steam Halflife 1 installiert haben. Es nützt nichts, Halflife 1 ohne Steam zu installieren.

Zudem muß Halflife 1, nachdem es in Steam installiert wurden, kurz gestartet und wieder geschlossen werden.

Es wird empfohlen, den automatischen Installer zu verwenden. Bei Problemen kann jedoch auf die manuelle Installation zurück gegriffen werden.

Vorgehen bei der manuellen Installation:
Suche das Verzeichnis, in dem Steam halflife 1 gespeichert hat. Zum Beispiel könnte das sein:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\email@address\half-life\

Hierhin mußt du das geladene zip-Archiv entpacken. Nach dem nächsten Neustart von Steam ist das Spiel in der Liste und spielbereit.
